Energy Pipe

One game mechanic was to have a vehicle that is wrapped around a tube, you have to drive the vehicle along the tube without touching it or you explode.
The tubes can be created in-engine with the spline tool giving designers great flexibility in their setup. There are nodes you can attach to the splines to break them up visually, and the tubes themselves wriggle around and look uncontrolled.
This being a material effect there is no collision detection, so wherever the vehicle is the tube becomes more calm, as if the vehicle is calming the energy pipe.
The spline also gets lights and collision objects spawned along its length so there is no additional setup for the energy pipe blueprints. Drag them in and you are ready to go.
